At the defunct Milliken & Co. textile mill in Robbins — hometown of vice presidential candidate John Edwards — Tammy Harmon of the Moore County Democratic Party cleans up the day after the election. ‘I was shocked,’ Harmon says. ‘I’ll be back in four years and I’m going to keep working at it. I’ll be looking for Edwards to be back too.’ Edwards’ father, Wallace, worked at the mill before it closed.
