Travis Long is a staff photojournalist and multimedia producer for The News & Observer and freelance photographer, videographer and editor based in Raleigh, NC.
Long’s photographs and documentary video work have garnered dozens of state, national and international awards including including recognition from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Society for News Design, National Press Photographers Association, Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, the Webbies and several state press associations.
His photography has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers including, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Excerpts from his latest video project work were used extensively in the recent hourlong documentary “CNN Present: Rogue Justice.”
Long lives in Raleigh, N.C. with his wife and two school-aged daughters and newborn son. He is an avid runner, bicycle commuter and gardener.
