Travis Long is a freelance photographer and staff photojournalist and picture editor for The News & Observer in Raleigh, NC with more than 20 years experience as a professional photojournalist.

Long’s photographs and documentary video work have garnered dozens of state, national and international awards including recognition from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, Society for News Design, National Press Photographers Association, Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar, the Southern Short Course, the Webbies and several state press associations.

His photography and videos have been published and broadcast in numerous magazines and newspapers, trade publications, books, television documentaries and news segments including, Newsweek, The Washington Post, The New York Times, USA TODAY, and The Wall Street Journal, CNN Presents and CBS Nightly News.

Some of his clients include Sony, Google, Biogen IDEC, and Themis.

Long lives in Raleigh, N.C. with his wife, two school-aged daughters and toddler son. He is an avid runner, bicycle-commuter, gardener, home brewer and chicken-keeper.
